"Nevaket – Friendship of Nations" Festival
Every autumn, the village of Krasnaya Rechka hosts the major multicultural festival "Nevaket – Friendship of Nations." This event is a vivid example of intercultural dialogue, where the traditions, folklore, culinary arts, and dances of Kyrgyz, Turks, Russians, and Dungans intertwine. The festival takes place at the site of the ancient city of Nevaket, located on the Great Silk Road. Guests will not only enjoy national dishes prepared according to traditional recipes but also participate in culinary masterclasses.
Maslenitsa
This traditional Slavic holiday, symbolizing the farewell to winter and the welcoming of spring, is celebrated in the Chui Oblast not only by the Russian diaspora but also by representatives of other ethnic groups. People of all ages and nationalities gather to enjoy pancakes, participate in folk festivities, and engage in singing and dancing. This is a great example of how cultural traditions blend and become shared by the entire community.

People prepare the traditional sumolok – a dish made from germinated wheat, which is cooked all night. The holiday is accompanied by folk festivals, horseback games, and other traditional entertainment.
Kymyz Fest
This festival, dedicated to the national drink kymyz (fermented mare’s milk), is an important event in the cultural life of the Chuy Region. It showcases the traditions of nomadic life while also promoting this traditional drink. The festival features tastings of various types of kymyz, demonstrations of traditional crafts, horseback games, and other cultural activities. "Kymyz Fest" is usually held in the jailoo Chunkurchak (high mountain pastures), allowing visitors to fully experience the nomadic way of life.
