Suusamyr

The Suusamyr Valley, located 130 km from Bishkek at an altitude of 2200-2600 meters, is a must-visit destination in Kyrgyzstan. Surrounded by three mountain ranges, the valley boasts a stunning landscape of verdant meadows, snow-capped peaks, and clear rivers.
The valley's climate is sharply continental, with long, snowy winters ideal for skiing and snowboarding. Summers transform the valley into a colorful meadow, attracting tourists and locals alike. It is a classic example of Alpine summer pastures, where Kyrgyz continue their nomadic livestock farming traditions. The valley is also home to rare species of animals and plants, and features unique historical monuments. Suusamyr also offers opportunities for mountain trout fishing, thanks to its clear and cold rivers. The summer months are considered the best period for fishing.
Additionally, the Suusamyr Valley is known for its kumys treatment, a therapeutic and wellness process using mare's milk. Drinking mare's milk five times a day for 10 days cleanses the body of toxins, revitalizes internal organs, and fully restores immunity. The combination of high-altitude living and mare's milk provides a synergistic effect in improving health, cleansing the body, and restoring immunity.

Some of the best things to see in Suusamyr are:

1. Subalpine and alpine meadows and grasslands.
2. Rivers and streams with clear water.
3. The mazar of Kozhomkul, with handprints of the famous Kyrgyz hero.
4. The local museum in the village of Kozhomkul, where you can learn about the history of the Suusamyr Valley.
5. Kumis treatment.
